Creating a beautiful space was never going to be difficult with this apartment, with its elegant tall ceilings, generous proportions and large windows overlooking some of the finest buildings in Marylebone. The focus for the design team was bringing a little bit of period glamour back to the interior, which like many London properties of this age had suffered from a series of renovations over the decades which had stripped all of the original features.

Working with Butcher Plasterworks, Althea designed a custom period style molding which would run the perimeter of the rooms and could accommodate a discreet linear LED light source. This strategy keeps the ceilings clean of clutter, allowing for excellent lighting levels with minimal using of recessed downlighters. The spaces are wrapped with light, creating a look which is flattering on the face and incredibly comfortable to live with.

Decorative elements provide accent lighting and a bit of sparkle.
